about

I was born in 1986 but I always felt like so many incredible things used to happen before that moment. If I had to pick one kind of game that always tickled my curiosity, that would definitely be racing games with cars, speeders, spaceships, etc. Not for the races themselves, but for the scrolling backgroundsand surrounding landscapes, instead. I always kept myself wondering which kind of stories might take place in those extraordinary environments !
"Spring Quest 84" is a tale that emerged from this fantasy and a tribute to music from late seventies to early eighties. This partly explains the sonic arsenal I chose to use: theinfamous CP-80 Electric Grand Piano from Yamaha, FM synthesis, Mellotron, and what is nothing less than my very first synthesizer, Roland's D-50, which, Iadmit it, was only released in late eighties, but whose sounds always seemed recalling from the past, to me.

This album would definitely not have the sound character and colour it has without the essential "RX950 Classic AD/DA Converter" audio plugin my friend and teammate Mathieu Demange has been developing for almost a year. This tool is a unbelievably realistic and accurate reproduction of what previously gave Akai's legendary S950 sampler his reputation and legitimacy. I may not have the technical words to precisely describe how the S950 works internally but I can assure, knowing Mathieu, that the RX950 is doing the same in every aspect. Not only the 12bit resolution, there's a lot more than that, believe me! Thanks a lot to Mathieu who let me use his plugin for production before its release date (psstt! it'll be released before the end of March, 2018, in VST/AU/Rack Extension formats).

I guess that's it. Once again, thank you for supporting my music with love. I wish you a pleasant journey to a future shaped by the past!
